Aliens: Academics to Debate Abductions at UFO Conference

PHOENIX. USA - Two former university professors and a pair of certified therapists will debate the controversial topic of alien abduction at next month's International UFO Congress in Scottsdale, Arizona. However, the topic for debate is probably not what you think. They will not be debating whether or not aliens are abducting humans - to this group alien abduction is a foregone conclusion. Instead, they will debate the motives for alien abductions - whether for the good of humanity or for baser, more nefarious reasons.

On the anti-alien side is Dr. David Jacobs, author of the recently published book Walking Among Us. Jacobs  is a retired professor of history at Temple University in Philadelphia. He has been researching the topic of alien abduction since the 1980s, and says he has studied 150 individuals, who, collectively, claim to have experienced over 1000 abductions.

Walking Among Us is Jacobs' fifth book on UFOs or aliens, and he believes aliens are integrating themselves into society as part of an "insidious invasion." He will be discussing his research during a lecture at the conference, as well as debating with other researchers during a panel presentation.

Dr. Joe Lewels, a former financial advisor and chairman of the departments of journalism and mass communication at the University of Texas at El Paso, will also be lecturing at the event and participating in the panel, but he has a much different perspective on the alien abduction phenomenon. Lewels is the author of The God Hypothesis: Extraterrestrial Life and Its Implications for Science and Religion, and Rulers of the Earth: Secrets of the Sons of God.

About abductions, Lewels believes there are "elements of the phenomenon having religious and spiritual undertones." He proposes that some aliens could be custodians or guardians over the human race.

Another panelist, Barbara Lamb, is a certified marriage and family therapist who has counseled over 1700 people who believe they have had extraterrestrial encounters. She further believes some of her clients have been alien-human hybrids, and will be discussing that very topic during her lecture.

The panel will be moderated by Yvonne Smith, a certified hypnotherapist from California. She too has counseled thousands of people who believe they have been abducted by alien visitors.

Can aliens really be abducting people from their homes, hotel rooms, or, in some cases, their vehicles, as these people report? Are there aliens and/or alien-human hybrids walking among us? Come to the UFO Congress from February 17 -21 and find out!
