Raw food helps man overcome sugar and lose weight



Oregon resident Clent Manich was continually surrounded by a variety of food at his workplace. He routinely ate pizza, hot dogs and soda. Because of his unhealthy dietary habits, his weight went up to a full 450 pounds – he couldn’t walk, was dependent on insulin and had to visit the hospital regularly in 2006 for pancreatitis. But now, he trains for marathons, is free from his diabetes, and doesn’t shy away from video cameras anymore. How did he do it?

Well, Manich is known to have lost more than 200 pounds in just a year’s time. His body fat percentage fell from a full 43.7 percent to 17.3 percent – all because he followed a raw food diet! As Manich says, “I feel great, my energy level is amazing. It’s better than when I was a teenager”. Along with better energy levels, his diabetes has literally vanished. Manich, as he claims, typically eats a whole lot more vegetables than fruits, and that he enjoys a variety of raw veggies including baby carrots, celery sticks, asparagus, zucchini, sweet peppers, broccoli etc. If he has a sweet food craving, he just eats a peach or a banana.

On the whole, Manich believes that he lost nearly 7 pounds on a weekly basis as soon as he got started with the consumption of raw foods. He estimates that dropped nearly 22 pounds the first month he started eating healthy raw foods. With all the wonderful results that he has attained by eating raw foods, Manich says, “I am never going to eat cooked food again”.
