Palestine: Hopelesness and helplessness attract extremism

Member European parliament sajjad Karim says "Hopelessness and Helplessness of Palestinians acts as biggest recruiting tool for extremists."  Speaking from the European Parliament in Strasbourg Sajjad Karim MEP stated, "The international community has yet again demonstrated it's inability to prevent the most horrific carnage that is unfolding on tv screens across the globe.

Scenes of innocent women and children facing unimaginable horrors and mental torture should be too much to bare. There are innocents on all sides crying out for this to cease. But yet we see an impotent Arab world and international community.

The same silence that is officially pronounced for the suffering experienced in Kashmir and Myanmar is also meted out for the Palestinians. Except there is one difference and that is the public consciousness which tries to take a stand for the Palestinians. Not a single Arab Government has ever raised the Palestinian issue with me in the European Parliament and when it comes to Kashmir all to often they are seen standing with the oppressors.

Today many young Europeans are compelled to react through repulsion to what they are seeing. Some then find themselves open to extremist ideas and reactions. This is clearly a serious worry for all European states. Israels actions will ultimately leave it and us all much more insecure and I stand to say this must stop immediately."
