Window Treatments are now big business

For Swags Galore, taking the risk of moving its business online now means big profit--and television fame. Swags Galore is a leading online retailer for window treatments located in Lakeville, Pennsylvania.

In 1999, Swags was the first window treatments store to expand its store to sell online. At that time, no one was selling curtains of any type online. The company's products have been featured on Nancy Glass Productions of Discover's Animal Planet and three episodes of HGTV's Spice Up My Kitchen. The company offers a wide variety of window treatments at low cost and fast shipping. Swags Galore offers everything from the most basic curtains to the most exotic and beautifully created masterpieces.

Swags Galore is a privately owned retail company that specializes in curtains and other window products such as rods and blinds. Swags Galore founder and CEO, Melinda West, found the perfect opportunity to expand the company after seeing increased competition from many smaller competitors. Melinda's vision was to offer custom discounts carved panels that other manufacturers were selling for more than most customers could afford. Within a short time, her home outgrew the business' needs to service all of its orders. Thus, Swags Galore rented its first warehouse in Yaphank, New York in 2000. In a short period of time, they outgrew that warehouse for a larger one. In 2007, Melinda and her husband, Eugene, moved the business to its current 9000 square foot warehouse and distribution center in Lakeville, Pennsylvania. By 200, Swags Galore again outgrew its facility and added another 3000 foot extension.

Swags Galore's unique products offer it an advantage over large retailers like Lowe's and The Home Depot. A well-known supplier for home improvement and do-it-yourself approaches, Swags Galore maintains affordable low prices and a more direct platform that allows it to challenge bigger competitors in its markets. Its national focus allows it to tailor its products to local tastes in each area of the United States, and time its promotions to match regional demand. Though Swags Galore has developed brand loyalty with hundreds of thousands of customers, its sights are set on satisfying each customer individually.

Swags Galore has come a long way once it took the online leap thirteen years ago. Due to its increasing sales, still growing at a 15% clip each year, the company has its eye on more sales abroad. For Melinda West, Swags Galore is still about helping others reach their home-improvement dreams.
